TVAA-In-Action:
2020 Campaign Education Series
Year 2020 embarks on unrestfulness. It boldly marks itself in our memory whatever we like it or not. In the torrent of times, TVAA holds the line of our principles: Live here. Act now. Defend our American dream and values.
As a Non-Profit Organization founded in 2018, TVAA is still fresh to social activities. As first-generation immigrants, we are passionate to contribute and in the process of learning better ways to participate. A friend gave us a gift of golden rule: “Be soft on the people and hard on the problem.” We are in the ever-lasting journey of practicing it in every moment of interactions. We met many helpful hands along the journey meanwhile swallowed judgmental coldness. Every moment of struggle, every choice between hold-on or give-up, eventually defines who we are! TVAA is in action.
We need more hands to join us in upcoming actions.

- Opposing PUSD Asian Subgrouping Registration. TVAA worked on this agenda since 2018. PUSD Board members and administration start to understand what it means to Asian community and why we oppose it. PUSD Board initiates the conversation to put it in Board agenda and vote for the final decision soon. The update will be released on http://www.tvaaus.org
- Pleasanton Election Education Sessions. TVAA reaches out potential candidates of all levels since May, including candidates for District Assembly Member, City Mayor, City Council Members, and PUSD Board. We asked each one what he/she thinks about Prop 16 (ACA-5). Underway are 2-3 Pleasanton Residence Election Education sessions planned in August. The criteria for candidate invitation are: First, the candidate stands with us on merit-based principle and Color-blind policy;Second, the candidate appreciates TVAA to provide the platform for education. We are glad that 80% of candidates met us on both.
